Geneva is the second most populated city in the country called Switzerland and is located in Romandie which is the french speaking part of Switzerland.Geneva is a financial center, a global city, and a worldwide center for diplomacy and is the most important international co-operative center with New York for the United Nations. It is also the headquarters of many of the agencies of the UN and also the Red Cross. Geneva has been described as the third financial center of Europe after Zurich and London. A survey in 2009 by Mercer found out that Geneva has the third highest quality of life of any city in the world. It has also been said to be the world’s most metropolis and also the “Peace Capital”.

The Climate of Geneva

Geneva has a temperate climate.It is situated at an altitude of about 373 meters above the sea level.It’s winters are moderately mild with having light forests in the night and thawing conditions during the day time.Geneva has pleasant summers.The amount of rainfall received is adequate and is well distributed throughout the year.There are ice storms near Lac Leman in the winter.The city of Geneva often has snowfall during the colder months and the nearby mountains receive a hefty amount of rainfall and thus are suitable for snowing.
